ERDA Excellence Award for Teaching

The ERDA Excellence Award for Teaching is a distinguished recognition bestowed upon ERDA individual members who have exhibited exceptional dedication, innovation, and impact in the field of education. This award acknowledges educators who have excelled in their teaching roles and made substantial contributions to the advancement of educational practices. Awards are presented in four distinct categories.

  1. For Secondary School Teachers: This category recognizes ERDA individual members who teach secondary-level students (grades 9 & 10) at government or private schools in India or abroad. Eligible nominators include Lifetime Members, Associate Members, and Fellow Members of ERDA. Awards are given for excellence in teaching the following subjects:
      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Mathematics
      • Physics
      • Social Science

             Number of Awards: 05 (one award per subject)

  1. For Senior Secondary School Teachers: This category honors ERDA individual members who teach secondary-level students (grades 11 & 12) at government or private schools in India or abroad. Eligible nominators include Lifetime Members, Associate Members, and Fellow Members of ERDA. Awards are conferred for the following subjects:
      • Accountancy
      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Economics
      • Mathematics
      • Physics

            Number of Awards: 06 (one award per subject)

  1. For Professors: This category acknowledges the teaching excellence of ERDA individual members who teach undergraduate and postgraduate students at government or private universities, colleges, or institutes in India or abroad. Eligible nominators include Lifetime Members, Associate Members, and Fellow Members of ERDA. Awards are distributed across the following eight faculties:
      • Faculty of Science
      • Faculty of Engineering and Technology
      • Faculty of Medical Sciences
      • Faculty of Commerce and Business Studies
      • Faculty of Management Studies
      • Faculty of Social Sciences
      • Faculty of Law
      • Faculty of Arts and Humanities

            Number of Awards: 08 (one award under each faculty)

  1. For Young Academicians: This category recognizes the teaching excellence of young ERDA individual members (aged 32 years or below) who teach undergraduate and postgraduate students at government or private universities, colleges, or institutes, in India or abroad. Eligible nominators for this award are Lifetime Members and Associate Members of ERDA. Awards are distributed across the following eight faculties:
      • Faculty of Science
      • Faculty of Engineering and Technology
      • Faculty of Medical Sciences
      • Faculty of Commerce and Business Studies
      • Faculty of Management Studies
      • Faculty of Social Sciences
      • Faculty of Law
      • Faculty of Arts and Humanities

            Number of Awards: 08 (one award under each faculty)

  • Selection Process: The selection process for the ERDA Excellence Award for Teaching is designed to ensure the recognition of truly outstanding educators. It consists of the following steps:
    • Application Submission: Eligible members must apply through the link provided on the ERDA website. Applicants are required to upload an updated CV along with a brief description (up to 500 words) highlighting their academic achievements and justifying their eligibility for the award. 
    • References: Applicants must provide the names, designations, institutional affiliations, contact numbers, and email addresses of at least five prominent academicians who can attest to their teaching excellence.
    • Digital Presence: Candidates are required to provide links to their profiles on social media and professional platforms such as LinkedIn, ORCID, SCOPUS, Research Gate, SSRN, Google Scholar or any other relevant digital platforms. This information may be helpful for the selection committee during evaluation.
    • Evaluation Process: The evaluation consists of two stages:
      • Initial Review: The submitted applications and accompanying documents will be reviewed to shortlist candidates based on their qualifications and contributions.
      • Final Evaluation: Shortlisted candidates will be evaluated by a dedicated committee within ERDA’s Non-executive Body. This committee will conduct a comprehensive review, including potential inquiries from various sources, to select the final awardees. The decision made by the committee is final.
  • Notification and Award Presentation: Award recipients will be notified following the final selection. Each recipient will receive a certificate and a trophy, which will be presented at ERDA’s annual seminar, conference, or summit. Those unable to attend will receive their awards via an e-certificate.
