ERDA Excellence Award for Research

ERDA Excellence Award for Research is a prestigious recognition dedicated to honoring professors, research scholars, and academic institutions that have made outstanding contributions to research, knowledge creation, and scholarly advancements. This award is conferred across various subjects under the following eight faculties:

  • Faculty of Science
  • Faculty of Engineering and Technology
  • Faculty of Medical Sciences
  • Faculty of Commerce and Business Studies
  • Faculty of Management Studies
  • Faculty of Social Sciences
  • Faculty of Law
  • Faculty of Arts and Humanities

Award Categories:

  1. For Professors: This category honors individuals who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to research that bridges the gap between theory and practice. These educators are not only dedicated teachers but also respected researchers who have significantly contributed to their academic community. Their work addresses critical educational challenges, explores innovative approaches, and generates insights that advance educational theory, practice, and policy. By bridging the gap between research and practice, they inspire fellow educators and empower them to make informed decisions that improve student outcomes and foster educational equity and excellence. 

           Number of Awards: 08 (one award under each faculty)

  1. For Young Researchers: This category recognizes young individuals (aged 32 years or below) for their substantial contributions to the field of research. Nominees must hold a Ph.D. degree. Members currently engaged in postdoctoral research are also eligible for nomination.

  1. For Doctoral Scholars: This category recognizes quality research undertaken by research scholars during their Ph.D. It acknowledges individuals who have shown remarkable dedication, creativity, and impact in advancing knowledge within their disciplines. The award is designed to acknowledge scholars whose research has the potential to influence their field and contribute meaningfully to society. Individuals pursuing a doctorate degree at recognized government or private universities in India or abroad are eligible nominators for the award.

  1. For Institutions: This award category acknowledges institutions that have shown exemplary commitment to fostering a culture of research excellence and innovation. These institutions provide essential support and resources for faculty and researchers, enabling them to conduct pioneering research that addresses key educational issues. They promote interdisciplinary collaboration, establish research partnerships, and create opportunities for knowledge dissemination that drives educational and social progress.

  • Selection Process: The selection process for the ERDA Excellence Award for Research is designed to ensure the recognition of truly outstanding researchers and research driven institutes. It consists of the following steps:
      • Application Submission: Candidates must submit their applications through the ERDA website, including an updated CV and a brief description (up to 500 words) that highlights their research achievements and explains their suitability for the award. Institutional applicants are required to submit only a detailed description (up to 1,000 words) outlining their research achievements and innovations. This narrative should demonstrate their commitment to advancing knowledge and fostering research within their institution.
      • References: Individual applicants must provide details of at least five prominent academic professionals who can vouch for their research contributions, including their names, designations, institutional affiliations, contact numbers, and email addresses.
      • Digital Presence: Candidates are required to provide links to their profiles on social media and professional platforms such as LinkedIn, ORCID, SCOPUS, Research Gate, SSRN, Google Scholar or any other relevant digital platforms. This information may be helpful for the selection committee during evaluation.
      • Evaluation Process: The evaluation process consists of two rounds:
        • Round One: Applications will be reviewed and shortlisted based on the submitted CV and description.
        • Round Two: Shortlisted applications will be forwarded to ERDA’s Non-executive Body. A dedicated committee within this body will conduct a thorough evaluation, including inquiries through various sources, to identify the final award recipients. The committee’s decision is final.
  • Notification and Award Presentation: Awardees will be notified by ERDA and will receive a certificate and a trophy during ERDA’s annual seminar, conference, or summit. Those unable to attend will receive an e-certificate.
